Brazil temporarily exempts Chinese barium carbonate from anti-dumping duties

On October 19, 2010, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission (CAMEX) passed a resolution stating that Química Geraldo NordesteS, the only manufacturer of barium carbonate in Brazil. A was in a state of production suspension and decided to temporarily exempt anti-dumping tariffs on barium carbonate imported from China (common foreign trade tariff No. 28366000 of the Communist Party of South Korea). This measure was effective on the date of its announcement (October 20, 2010) and was valid for one year.

Prior to this, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Commission passed a resolution on June 30, 2010, and decided to continue to impose anti-dumping measures on China's barium carbonate at US$105.17 per ton. This resolution will come into effect on the date of its promulgation (July 1, 2010) and will be valid for five years.
