Snooker Architects Designed Brick House

With a dark brick facade, this suburban home has a double-height entrance from a British studio Snooker Architect, a sturdy stone fireplace and skylights covering the entire hallway. Located in a tree-lined suburb outside of Liverpool, the house is home to a 40-year-old couple.

"Bricks were used to emphasize the solid voids on the first floor of the glaze, the overhanging nature of the corners, and emphasis on the horizontal ratio of the design," said architect Neil Dawson. The entrance lobby creates a natural divide through the center of the house. Once inside, residents can turn left into the main living room and dining space, find a garage to the right and study, or go straight upstairs. Double high entrance space, hidden in front of the facade, is a pleasant experience once the property is entered, exposing the garden and intricately designed steel stairs. Around a fireplace, there is a large center in the living room between the lounge and dining area. The walls are bare cement, supplemented with wooden furniture, stone floors and patterned carpets.

The warm concrete quality, its full height windows and central fireplace are at the industrial and comfortable meeting. Natural stone tiles allow uninterrupted operation throughout the open space and excellent thermal performance of floor heating.
