The honing process is widely used for the machining of holes, and the design and adjustment of the honing head have a direct impact on the machining accuracy of the holes. This paper describes a honing head with pneumatic measurements for the machining of cylinder bores in refrigerator compressors. The material of the cylinder is generally cast iron, the hardness is 180-220HB, the tensile strength is greater than 210MPa, the pearlite content is less than 90%, and the cylinder is required to be less than 30μm after machining.
