Nowadays, ordinary infrared cameras generally use photosensitive elements to detect the illumination intensity of the environment, and generate control signals according to the thresholds determined in the design parameters to realize the opening of the infrared lamps. The threshold is determined by the environment in which it is used, the user's preference, and the designer's consideration of the importance of various factors. The products of each manufacturer are different. Such as 20, 10, 5 Lux. If the threshold is high, the opening time is earlier. It is possible that the camera has not switched color to black and white, and the infrared light is turned on. There are three disadvantages to this:
One is to extend the use time of the infrared lamp, affecting the service life of the product; the second is to turn on the infrared light when the color image can be generated, which will cause the image quality to decrease at this time; the third is to generate the infrared eye on the color image (infrared The eye is also determined by the principle, a phenomenon that people do not want to see). If the threshold is low, it is possible that the infrared light cannot be turned on in time when additional lighting is required.
Why does the infrared camera flash? As mentioned before, when the illumination intensity is lower than the threshold, the infrared light turns on. Closes above the threshold. Let us consider the case when the illumination intensity is slightly lower than the threshold: the photosensitive element detects that the illumination intensity is slightly lower than the threshold, and controls the infrared light to turn on the illumination----the infrared light is illuminated, and the detected illumination is improved (plus the inverse The infrared light that is coming back, and exceeds the threshold, controls the infrared light to turn off---causes the detected illuminance to decrease, and once again controls the infrared light to turn on. This does not stop, causing the image to flicker. This situation is the principle, not to mention normal, at least not the quality of the product.

The ambient illuminance detected by the photosensitive element is slightly below the threshold. This is the condition for the problem. There are two cases:

Solution for infrared camera image flickering 1: Change the threshold.
In the same model, the threshold is also different, and there is dispersion. The problem may be solved by replacing a product.
Products with different design thresholds are supplied by the manufacturer for replacement.
Products with higher threshold design parameters are less likely to flicker.
Solution for infrared camera image flicker 2: change the environment
Change the intensity and angle of the illumination.
Slightly change the installation angle of the camera, move up and down, left and right, the illuminance detected by the detector will change a lot, and it will leave the threshold to solve the flicker problem.
Solution for infrared camera image flickering: use high quality low illumination camera backlight with backlight compensation and anti-glare, especially dedicated IR lens;
In addition, when someone or other object near the camera reflects the infrared light, the detected illuminance changes repeatedly, causing flicker. For example, when doing demonstration test, detection, camera installation position is low, when there is an object blocking the camera at a close distance.
This is not a problem, and this phenomenon is naturally gone when the camera is in the normal installation position. As shown in the demonstration, just be careful not to let the infrared light directly reverse from the close distance to the photosensitive element.
