ABC class protective clothing is divided according to what classification?
ABC-class protective clothing is the American OSHA standard. According to its different applications, protective clothing is divided into the following four levels of ABCD:
Class A airtight protective clothing 1. General requirements: The need for use with air respirator and chemical protective boots, gloves. 2. Main application: When the highest level of respiratory and skin hazards are present at the same time, and in unknown hazardous environments. Class A protective clothing can withstand almost all hazardous chemicals (including gaseous, liquid, or solid) in industrial production, as well as any dangerous substances. Solid A class airtight protective clothing is internationally known as the strongest chemical protective clothing. The whole outfit must be equipped with a long tube type air respirator, which has achieved airtightness. This type of protective clothing must be regularly tested for airtightness to ensure safety in use.
Class B large quantities of spattered chemical protective clothing 1. General requirements: The need to use with air respirator and chemical protective boots, gloves. 2. Main application: When the highest level of respiratory hazards and lower grade skin hazards coexist. It is provided when it is known that it does not affect the skin or it cannot penetrate and only poses a threat to the respiratory system. Class B protective clothing, requiring a Class A respiratory protection rating, and a relatively low skin protection class A, can prevent the penetration of liquid substances, but it cannot prevent the penetration of harmful vapours or gases. This kind of protective clothing mainly focuses on the protection of liquid toxic substances rather than gaseous toxic substances.
Grade C spattered chemical protective clothing 1. General requirements: Generally, it needs to be used with filter-type air breathing equipment and chemical protective boots and gloves. 2. Main applications: Low respiratory hazards and lower grade skin hazards coexist. Known to have no effect on the skin, and has been equipped with the understanding of the composition and concentration of toxic substances in the environment. Grade C protective clothing has the same level of skin protection as Class B protective clothing, but the level of respiratory protection is relatively lower than that of Class B. Can prevent the spraying of toxic liquid substances, but can not protect toxic vapor or gaseous substances. Class D ordinary protective clothing 1. General requirements: Applicable to the general working environment, to the user may be exposed to harmful dust, play the first level of protection. 2. The main application: dust protection, a small amount of low-level chemical liquid spray. Grade D protective clothing, low-grade protective clothing, and no protection for the skin and respiratory system. It is equipped with a known gaseous material environment that is harmless to humans and free of liquid splashes.
