Chinese name: Peracetic acid, English name: peroxyacetic acid

Chinese name 2: Peracetic acid, peracetic acid, peracetic acid

Chemical formula and structural formula: CH3COOOH, C2H4O3

Relative molecular mass: 76.06

Mainly used for (1) bleaching agents for textiles, paper, grease, paraffin and starch. (2) As an oxidizing agent or an epoxidizing agent in organic synthesis. (3) Used as a fungicide and disinfectant.

First, the physical and chemical properties

Peracetic acid is an acidic oxidizing agent that is a colorless, transparent liquid that is acidic and has a strong pungent odor. It is volatile, soluble in a variety of organic solvents and miscible in any proportion.

Peracetic acid is unstable and can be naturally decomposed. It can accelerate decomposition when it encounters heat, metal ions, alkaline substances and organic matter.

Peracetic acid is irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, corrosive to metals and other articles, and bleaching to textiles.

The content of peracetic acid in disinfection products is about 16%-20%. Users should be careful not to splash into the eyes during operation. Only diluted to 0.2% or less can be used for skin and mucous membranes.

Second, the method of use

1. Disinfect the ground, walls, doors and windows

A peroxyacetic acid solution having a concentration of 0.2% to 0.5% was placed in a sprayer for spray sterilization. The soil wall absorbs 50 ml/m2-300 ml/m2, and the cement wall, wooden wall and lime wall are 100 ml/m2. The spray disinfectant solution for the above various walls should not exceed the amount of liquid absorbed. The ground disinfection is sprayed once from the outside to the inside, and the spray amount is 200 ml/m2 to 300 ml/m2. After the indoor disinfection is completed, the spray is repeated from the inside to the outside. The above disinfection treatment, the action time should be no less than 60 minutes, and then open the doors and windows to ventilate.

2. Disinfect the house space

After the house is sealed, use a peracetic acid solution (1 g/m3) with a concentration of 15% and a volume of 7 ml per cubic meter of space, put it in porcelain or glassware (which can be used for heating), and use an alcohol stove. Or the gas furnace is heated and evaporated, and fumigation is carried out for 120 minutes to open the doors and windows for ventilation. Or spray disinfection with a 2% peracetic acid solution (8 ml / m3), the holding time should be 30 minutes -60 minutes, then open the door and window ventilation.

3. Disinfect clothes and bedding

Hang the clothes to be sterilized indoors (do not stack them together), close the doors and windows, and paste the gaps. Use a peracetic acid solution (1 g/m3) with a concentration of 15% and a volume of 7 ml per cubic meter. Put it into a porcelain or glass container (which can be used for heating), heat it in an alcohol stove or a gas stove, and fumigation for 60 minutes - 120 minutes, then open the doors and windows to ventilate.

4. Disinfect the meal (drinking)

The meal (drinking) is soaked for 30 minutes with a 0.5% peracetic acid solution. When soaking, the disinfectant should be passed over the disinfected utensils, and finally the meal (drink) is washed with running water.

5. Disinfect the food

Fruits and vegetables should be soaked in a peracetic acid solution with a concentration of 0.2% to 0.5% for 10 minutes. When soaking, the disinfectant should be passed over the food, and finally the food should be washed with running water.

6. Disinfect the container containing excrement or vomit

Soak for 30 minutes with a 0.5% peracetic acid solution. When soaking, the disinfectant should flow over the sterilized container and then rinse with running water.

7. Disinfection of household goods and furniture

Soak, spray or scrub with a peracetic acid solution at a concentration of 0.2% to 0.5%. For soaked or sprayed articles, wash them with running water or clean them with a clean cloth.

8. Disinfection of the opponent and the skin

If the hand or skin is seriously contaminated, it can be soaked in a 0.2% peracetic acid solution or wiped with a 0.2% peracetic acid cotton ball or gauze block and then washed with running water.

9. Disinfect the patient's body

The cloth immersed in a 0.5% peracetic acid solution is smeared as soon as possible after the body is tightly wrapped.

10. Disinfect the means of transport

The inner and outer surfaces of the car, the ship's interior and the cabin space can be sprayed to a surface with a peracetic acid solution at a concentration of 0.5% for a time of not less than 60 minutes. When disinfecting the cabin of the vehicle, the space should be sealed first, and the concentration of 15%, 7 ml per cubic meter of peracetic acid solution (1 g / m3), placed in porcelain or glassware (can be used for In the heating, it is heated and evaporated in an alcohol stove or a gas furnace, and fumigation is performed for 120 minutes.

Third, packaging, storage and transportation

The peracetic acid container should be made of non-metal materials as much as possible. During the storage process, a large amount of gas can be generated due to decomposition. Therefore, it can only be divided into dark polyethylene plastic barrels (bottles), and the device can only occupy the volume of the plastic barrel (bottle). Four-fifths. The cover of each packaging container shall have a venting hole composed of a functional material that is permeable but not leaking.

Peracetic acid packaging should have a firm and clear mark, including: manufacturer name, site, product name, specification, grade, net content, batch number (or production date), this standard number should meet the requirements of GB15258, and meet the requirements of GB190 The “organic peroxide” mark, the “corrosive” mark and the “upward” mark specified in GB191.

Peracetic acid should be transported using dangerous goods transport vehicles. Organic synthetic products of peracetic acid should be transported using dangerous goods transport vehicles with refrigeration functions. It should be protected from sunlight or heat during transportation and cannot be mixed with flammable and reducing agents.

Peracetic acid should be stored in a dark, ventilated and cool warehouse. The peracetic acid used mainly for organic synthesis should be stored in a warehouse below 4 °C. The products should be stored separately and should not be mixed with other chemicals. Incompatibility: Flammable or combustible materials, strong reducing agents, copper, iron, iron salts, zinc, active metal powder, hair, oils and fats. The storage of peracetic acid should also comply with the relevant provisions of GB15603.

Fourth, safety tips

Peracetic acid is an organic peroxide. It can cause fire and explosion when exposed to open flame and high heat. It is in danger of burning and explosion when it comes into contact with reducing agent. In case of container rupture or leakage, it should be washed with plenty of water, or with sand and inert. The absorbent absorbs the residual liquid and takes appropriate safety precautions. Peracetic acid is corrosive and irritating to the eyes, mucous membranes or skin. It is a burn hazard. If it is inadvertently contacted, use plenty of water to rinse and seek medical advice.

Five, matters needing attention

1. Prevent corrosion and damage: When using peracetic acid, prevent damage to the items. Do not use it for precision instruments and sharp instruments. Wipe clean with water immediately after wiping and disinfecting. Because of its bleaching effect, brightly colored textiles cannot be soaked with peracetic acid. Production operators should take protective measures, such as protective glasses, protective gloves, protective shoes, etc., to prevent damage to the skin.

2. When used for ground disinfection Note: Peracetic acid has obvious damage to the ground of marble and terrazzo. It is forbidden to wipe the ground with its aqueous solution.

3. Ensure the use concentration: Peracetic acid is unstable, and the concentration should be ensured during preparation. It can be prepared at any time to prevent overdue use. It should be prepared in strict accordance with the concentration of the peracetic acid disinfectant purchased and the instructions for use. Without knowing the exact concentration, the concentration should be tested by using the digestion method or special test paper before use. Can't be too high or too low.
