Ceiling surface treatment tips

At present, the surface treatment of the ceiling mainly includes three types: laminating, rolling coating and spraying, among which the laminating board is the best.

Nowadays, there are many ceiling surface treatments in the market, also called filming, but it is a kind of film in China. The formed board is called plastic coated board. There is also a pearl plate, the surface looks like a laminate, but it is not a film at all. It is only used in the spray coating to add pearlescent powder to the paint for spraying. This kind of board is prone to chromatic aberration, and it usually changes color after two or three years.

The roll-coated board is a composite metal sheet with a primer and a topcoat on the front and a painted back.

Spray plate surface flow

Semi-finished products - degreasing - cleaning - chromizing - drying (cooling) - electrostatic powder coating - curing, cooling - lower parts and inspection - packaging into the warehouse.

The surface of the sprayed board with good market surface is sprayed with “epoxy resin” electrostatic powder. The adhesion is grade 1, the gloss is 18 degrees, no color difference, no bubbles, no particles, and weather resistance (indoor 10)

A good sprayed plate is passivated before spraying on the surface. Any part of the surface is crossed with a sharp blade to draw a small grid of 1MM*1MM. It is peeled off with a medical tape, the coating does not fall off, and the surface is washed 100 times without damage.

Second generation roll coating process

Roll-coated panels have topcoats, primers, and backcoats. The backcoats are primarily resistant to oxidation and provide longer life.

The surface of the roll-coated board is uniform, smooth, no leakage coating, shrinkage, scratching, peeling and other obvious defects. However, there are trace defects such as bubbles, pits, and inclusions on the surface, which are normal phenomena.

Third generation laminating board processing

The surface treatment and process of the laminating board are the same as those of the pre-coated board, except that the surface of the laminating board is a layer (PVC film).

The surface of the coated board is firmly adhered, and there are obvious defects such as no wrinkles, scratches, falling off, and missing stickers. However, the surface is allowed to have a small amount of defects such as micro wrinkles and irregularities in 0.2 mm on both sides in the width direction.

From the above, it can be seen that the intrinsic quality of the aluminum gusset plate is determined by the aluminum substrate and the surface treatment process.

Lap Joint Flanges

Lap Joint Flanges (LJ Flanges) are used on piping fitted with lapped pipe or with lap joint stub ends the combined initial cost of the two items being approximately one-third higher than that of comparable Welding Neck Flanges.

Lap joint flange is having two components, a stub end, and a loose backing flange. Stub end is butt welded to the pipe and Backing flange freely move over the pipe. The backing flange can be of different material than stub material and normally of the carbon steel to save the cost. Lap flange is used where frequent dismantling is required, and space is constrained.

Furthermore, a standard lap joint flange will typically have a longer hub length in comparison to a slip on flange, but this is often considered unnecessary for many applications.

The lap joint flange is practically identical to a slip-on flange except it has a radius at the intersection of the bore and flange face.
