Children's clothing safety can not be ignored

Insecure small buttons are easily swallowed by children, azo, formaldehyde can easily cause cancer, broken needles may hurt the child's body ... ... such children's clothing safety problems have emerged one after another. However, when parents buy clothes for their children, their attention is focused on asking prices, seeing brands, picking styles, recognizing materials, and selecting sizes. Few parents place children's clothing on a sufficiently important position. According to a survey conducted by the Shanghai Institute of Family Consumption, 90% of “80s” parents “do not know” or “don't know” about children's clothing safety issues, but the industry has put attention to the safety of children's clothing on the agenda.

On August 4th, “Focus on Children's Wear Safety Action” was launched in Beijing. The China Apparel Industry Association, the China Consumer Association, and the Children’s Aid Association jointly appealed for the safety of children’s clothing. The first brand of children's wear in China, Green Box, is the first in the domestic children's wear industry to publicly promise the safety and quality of children's clothing to the society.

At present, there are two major hidden dangers in children's clothing safety: “One is that children’s clothing fabrics carry azo chemicals and other carcinogens. The damage caused to children is sustained release. Second, the problem of broken needles in children’s clothing production process is easily overlooked in China. Its influence on children is explicit.” Wu Fangfang, president of Green Box, said, “The green box is for the real peace of mind that the children's clothing listed on this fall and winter season has an authoritative department's quality inspection report.” But this promise, the cost The price is that in the "children's clothing safety" project, the green box has invested more than 5 million yuan. Not only was the inspection of the garments costing more than 2 million, but it was heard that the Green Box children's clothing was fully sent for inspection. Fabrics and other suppliers and co-operating factories all increased their prices. Green Box designated three authoritative organizations testing agencies, and its factories and co-workers are asked only in these three inspection requirements, if the inspection fails, the children's clothing will be returned to the factory, and outlawed the qualification of the cooperative factory.

Xie Qing, deputy secretary-general of the China Garment Association, said that the safety of children's clothing is not only a problem of the production enterprises, but also a problem of printing, dyeing and processing in the supply chain. The entire supply chain needs strong supervision and profound reflection.
