Sponsored by the Mechanical Engineering Committee of the China Mechanical Engineering Society, the 16th National Abrasive Technology Conference hosted by the Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute and the China Machine Tool & Tool Industry Association Superhard Materials Branch on August 7, 2011 -10th Victory was held at the Ramada Hotel in Wulu, Urumqi. A total of 150 experts from foreign well-known institutions, research institutes and enterprises in the field of abrasive processing, engineering and technical personnel, and some foreign research institutions and industry scholars attended the meeting. The association is the industry academic conference with the highest level of abrasive grain processing in China. It is a platform for China's abrasive grain technology research and engineering application exchange and cooperation. It is held every two years. The conference aims to lead the development of China's abrasive technology research field, exchange new theories, new technologies, new methods and new progress in the field of modern abrasive grain engineering, and enhance the international influence of China's abrasive grain processing technology.

It is an eye-opening and will have a profound impact on the academic and technical research of abrasive processing. On the second day of the conference, there were two venues. Twenty-eight well-known domestic experts and scholars read the papers and detailed the latest achievements in recent years. The difference between the current abrasive grain meeting and the previous one is that it has added major special joint application guidance and school-enterprise docking exchanges and other discussions. Zhu Feng, director of Zhengzhou Sanmao Institute, and Liu Mingyao, deputy director, introduced the 12th Five-Year Plan and major special joint application experience in superhard materials and abrasive processing and equipment. Professor Huang Yun from Chongqing University presided over the technical needs of universities and enterprises to connect and exchange. This will be of great benefit to the support of the participants on how to apply for state funds and the effective docking of schools and enterprises. After review by peer experts, 107 papers were collected and compiled into the "16th National Abrasive Technology Conference Abstracts Collection". The excellent papers of the conference were published in the international journal Key Engineering Materials (KEM), and the full text of EI was included. This meeting, with the joint efforts of the main contractor, achieved a complete success and was highly praised by the participants! The conference provided a feast of academic achievements for researchers in abrasive processing and related fields, which promoted the academic atmosphere, promoted exchanges in academics, technology, and information, and enhanced the friendship between scholars.
